Sealy has a long history of making quality beds. In 1881 Daniel Haynes invented a new process for making cotton mattresses. They soon became known as the “mattress from Sealy” We have come a long way since then.

The pressure relieving visco-elastic material was originally developed for NASA, USA as cushioning material to relieve body pressure points during long space shuttle flights. It was also implemented in the medical industry, to help to alleviate pressure sores and increase patient comfort.
